Christmas....in July???

Rumor has it that a grossly overweight older man with a white beard dressed in a red suit has been lurching in the recesses of the Inn. Not true, but there have been reported sightings of several reindeer,(Moose??) in the immediate vicinity. Oops...no, this isn't December but don't tell that to the stylists, decorators, and photographers busy at work turning the Inn into a Christmas wonderland. A magazine is working on their Christmas issue and the Shellmont Inn will be a prominent feature in that issue. Stay tuned to our blog and tweets for more info as the time gets closer.

The Joys of Innkeeping

One of the many fun chores at the Inn is assembling the floral arrangements. After 25 years of repeating this adventure, Debbie has become quite proficient at it. Certainly, the guests enjoy the aesthetic value of the visual stimulation as well as the fragrant aromas nature provides. Even "Moose" seems to enjoy the flowers...go figure that!! A Fantastic Photographer

Capturing images in alternating light filled environments is just one of the specialties of renowned Atlanta photographer Tim Olive. Tim seems to capture the "essence" of the moment as well as the "mood" of the subject. Whether it be a room at the Inn or a person playing a musical instrument in a cornfield, the photograph comes alive! Often in demand, due to travels both nationally and internationally, his work schedule is hectic and intense, yet his calm demeanor is laid back and calming towards the client.

Work at the Inn

Work happens...especially at an Inn. Seems as though there is always something to do, especially as it relates to a 117 year old structure. Up high on the roof, UV rays discolor paint more quickly than on other partially shaded areas of the Inn. Thus, my presence is required periodically to remedy the situation. Ah, maybe I should consider an apprentice in training!!
